CaesarStone vs. Marble

Who doesn't dream of having a beautiful kitchen with white marble counter tops, because I most defiantly do. Unfortunately, unless you have extreme OCD your not going to want to take care of marble, let alone white!

Plus side to Marble
-Its beautiful!

Down sides to Marble
-Very porous so it retains water
-Scratches easily
-Can't put anything hot on its surface
-Stains easily!!
-Prone to cracking and chipping
-Not kid friendly

Fortunately, there is another option that can give you that same bright elegant feel and it just so happens to be sustainable (or eco-friendly) its called CaesarStone. It is a man made product but their Misty Carrera color resembles Carrera Marble most excellently.

Plus side to CaesarStone
-Scratch resistant
-Stain resistant
-Crack resistant
-Heat resistant
-Non-porous
-Low maintenance
-Kid friendly

Down sides to CaesarStone
-I'll let you know when I think of one.

                                              Very Similar

CaesarStone it is!!

They also come in a huge variety of colors so there are options galore. My most favorite is the Lagos Blue color, its actually not blue at all, its a grayed brown color and its so beautiful and warm and would look amazing against white cabinets.

  4. Misty Carerra is very nice, but you have to love it for what it is, and not for what you want it to be (marble). To me, it just doesn't have the same organic feel to it as marble. But if I had $75K to remodel my kitchen, I would probably choose a composite like Caesarstone.
